This is the age of technology and the internet. We need to learn to use this technology to the fullest extent. Just having a company web site is not internet marketing. So what is? Using a site like EzineArticles to get your message out is one excellent form of marketing. If you have a knack for writing, you can usually write a 250 word article in about 30-45 minutes. Once that article is out there on the internet, it will remain until you take it off. It can be read by hundreds, if not thousands, if it has valuable content.

You do have to learn what constitutes valuable content. But that just takes using common sense. Does the article you are writing have content that many people would be interested in reading? Google has become such a common term when you are seeking information, we commonly say,"Google it." So base your article on something that many people would searching for on Google.

My favorite form of internet marketing is video marketing. I used to think You Tube was just for entertainment. You could watch laughing babies, dancing comedians , or whatever the latest craze was at the time. But you can market yourself and your MLM company by making videos and posting them on You Tube. Potential customers can come to identify you through your videos. Again that video is there to be viewed until you take it down.

We installed wordpress which is free and used a free theme with very little modification, this whole process took about 2 hours. Then wrote 6 articles and submitted them, with a piece of software called article submitter pro, to about 100 article sites.

By watching Google analytics, which is another free tool that reports statistics on your site, you can see the day, which was Nov 17, 2008, that traffic started to come to the site because the articles began to be approved at the different article sites we submitted to. These 6 articles drove 179 visits and over 92% were new visits with an average time on the site of over 3 minutes and an average page visit of 2 pages.

These are very good statistics for writing free articles that will stay on the web forever and drive traffic. These articles will also build backlinks to your site which will help in your page rank and getting placed on page one of the Google search results for specific keywords.

So you see article marketing serves a dual purpose and is really the best free internet advertising. You are directly driving the traffic from readers that click the link in your resource box and you are also moving towards a Google page one ranking on the keywords you are targeting in your articles which will give you traffic. This site had no traffic up to this point and nothing else was done but submitting 6 articles that took about 30 minutes each to write and an additional 20 minutes to submit per article.

Imagine if you continued to write 6 articles every month and submitted them to get additional traffic. Affiliate marketing There are also boatloads of cash to earn on the Internet by helping others sell their products. This is called "affiliate marketing".

Affiliate marketing is an amazingly cheap way to get into Internet marketing because you never see or store products, nor do you process any transactions. You simply promote other businesses products via your own website.

When someone reads about a product on your website, you'll provide a link to the actual vendor website. If the visitor ends up buying you'll get a commission.

How You Can Exploit The Internet Marketing Niche

Have you heard that thousands of people are making small fortunes from the comfort of their own homes selling all manner of products on the Internet? Well yes, it is indeed true. But surely only large companies and those in the know can succeed? How can I, a single individual, with little or no experience become a part of this revolution? Well you can and during this series of articles I am going to show you how! But first lets start with the very basics...

What is Internet Marketing?

Internet Marketing is essentially the same as any other forms of marketing but with a few subtle differences that the savvy Internet Marketer can exploit.

Lets start with a very simplified view of marketing in the real world. In the real world people and companies develop products and services and then sell them to public via the usual retail channels, physical locations that people visit. The alternative being some kind of mail order system (e.g. Catalogues) where goods are ordered and then physically delivered. Marketing takes all the forms we are familiar with from hugely expensive Movie & TV ads to fliers stuffed in letterboxes. All essentially willing people to buy a particular product with both general and specific needs being catered for.

It is no different on the Internet and it has now taken on the role of catalogue in an exponentially increasing way and will continue to do so.

But surely, you ask, its still the same old giant companies with huge marketing budgets that will dominate as always. Yes, they are there and always will be but you are not going to be even competing with them or more specifically not necessarily targeting the same potential customers.

And besides , you ask, I dont have any products to sell. How does that work? Firstly, whether you have a product to sell or not the lessons in these articles are equally applicable and secondly, there are literally thousand of great products on the Internet that you can sell as an affiliate.

What is an Affiliate?

You have no doubt heard the term Affiliate and probably know what it means and affiliation relationships have existed in the real world since the year dot. They are however far more prevalent and lucrative on the Internet...

Product owners in IM are called merchants and frequently market their own products directly to potential customers. A great many of them however also allow (actually encourage) others to market their products on their behalf as Affiliates. This can reduce the merchants marketing budget significantly and has the potential to increase their reach to a much wider audience. Many merchants also do not have the expertise to sell online and use affiliates to do it for them. The pay back for the affiliate is a commission for every successful sale and in IM it can by as high as 75%! And whats more you can be an affiliate for as may products as you want. It is a relatively straight forward process to sign up to most and there are number of existing market places like Clickbank and Commission Junction that have thousands of merchants with great products to market.

As an affiliate it is your job to drive traffic to the merchants door and you do that primarily by Advertising their products on their behalf.

How do you Advertise?

I will be going in to the actual mechanics of how this works in practice in later articles but generally you would advertise the merchants products on the Advertising networks of the main search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN. You are probably familiar with these Ads which are usually located down the right hand side of a search results page under Sponsored Links.

A searcher types in a phrase or keyword into the search engine, the results page appears, the searcher clicks on your Ad and is either taken directly to the merchants web site or to a promotional web page that you have created for the purpose and makes a purchase. Sounds simple right? Unfortunately it is a lot more subtle and complex than that but that is the basic principal

The first little complication is that those Ads of yours cost money and more importantly they cost YOU money. The Ads are changed on a cost per click basis and this can range from anything from $0.01 - over $10.00 per click. However the trick is to send enough traffic to your merchant so that the subsequent sales generated (and the commissions you will receive) not only cover the cost of the Ads but generate a profit for you. And these profits can be substantial!! Interested? Well before we go on to the mechanics lets sum up.

Conclusion

There is a real and genuine opportunity out there in the IM world for you become a part of. It is not rocket science but please note:not anyone can do it. You need an ability to learn and be creative and you will require loads of perseverance but if you are willing to put in the effort the rewards can be fantastic.

Achooo! Are You Allergic to Your Home?

House dust! How bad can it be? Well, the EPA ranks indoor air pollution among the top five environmental risks to public health. It is estimated that up to 50 million Americans are affected by allergies each year, with 11 million of these experiencing asthmatic symptoms. This accounts for approximately 16.7 million doctor visits and $18 billion in medical expenses each year. Since Americans spend about 90% of their time indoors, it is not surprising that the rate of asthma and allergies are on the increase!

The most common health effects revolving around allergens are allergic reactions, asthma, dermatitis, and conjunctivitis. Every individual has different levels of sensitivities and may not be allergic to certain allergens. The most common symptoms of an allergic reaction include sneezing, watering or itching eyes, scratchy throat, runny nose, tissue inflammation, shortness of breath (asthma) and skin irritation.

Allergens consist of chemical or biological substances that produce an allergic response in some individuals. And house dust contains some of the common asthma and allergy allergens. In fact, polluted air and dust can contain mold spores, pollen, chemicals and perfumes. It can also contain the three most common allergen sources for asthma and allergies - pet dander, dust mites, cockroaches and their wastes.

Pet dander is a major problem. In America, the effects of animal dander are higher than elsewhere in the world because most of us keep our pets indoors. In fact, 63% of U.S. households own a pet which equates to 69.1 million homes.

Dogs, cats, rodents - including hamsters and guinea pigs - and other mammals can trigger asthma in individuals with an allergic reaction to animal dander. The proteins in dead skin, saliva, dandruff and urine from an animal are the cause of allergies, not the animal's hair. And short haired dogs are no less allergenic than longhaired dogs.

Cats are very allergenic - with the highest concentration of allergens on their necks. People who own cats are likely to carry allergens on their hair, skin, and clothing. High levels of cat allergens have been found in offices of people who keep cats at home.

Animal allergies also carry over to related products such as down comforters, wool and mohair sweaters, fur coats, and horsehair upholstery.

Dust mites are closely related to spiders and ticks. They are invisible to the naked eye and are so tiny that they float into the air whenever you fluff a pillow, pat a stuffed animal or walk across a carpet. They are in every home! Approximately 50% of allergy sufferers react to dust mites and that number is rising. In fact, dust mites can cause asthma in children who have not previously exhibited asthma symptoms.

Dust mites feed on human skin flakes, (humans continually shed skin and lose about 1/5 ounce of dead skin each week), pollen, fungi, bacteria and animal dander. As dust mites grow, they shed their skin. It is their skin particles and feces that cause allergic reactions in people. During their life span, dust mites have been reported to produce feces weighing up to 200 times their body weight. About 42,000 dust mites can live in 1 ounce of dust. Dust mites live for up to 100 days and during that time lay up to 70 eggs. Thus, just a few dust mites can quickly lead to a significant infestation.

Clinical studies have determined that dust mites can cause allergic reactions, asthma, dermatitis, and conjunctivitis in affected individuals. About 10%-20% of the population is allergic to dust mites. Dust mites thrive in mattresses, pillows, carpets, upholstered furniture, bedcovers, clothes, stuffed toys, car seats and fabric-covered items. For example, the average year-old pillow contains 250,000 dust mites.

Cockroaches are the most common insect to evoke an allergic response. In the United States, the German cockroach is one of the most prevalent species. Cockroach allergens are released from their saliva, fecal matter, skin shells, and their eggshell. As with other allergens, cockroach allergens are small enough to become airborne with ordinary traffic through a room. A concentration of 2 units of German cockroach allergen per gram of dust has been found to produce an allergic reaction in some individuals.

Tackling the Dust

Reducing exposure to indoor allergens can reduce asthma and allergy symptoms. One solution is to properly ventilate your home. As important as energy efficiency is, an insulated home retains forty times more pet allergens than a non-insulated home. Air filters help, but pet emanations are remarkably durable and can stay in furniture, carpets, draperies and heating ducts for as long as six months.

We spend about one third of our lives sleeping. Therefore high levels of dust mites are often associated with the bedroom - especially bedding and mattresses. Since dust mites dislike plastic and low humidity, cover mattresses and pillows with dust proof zippered covers. Wash bedding once per week in hot water, at least 77 deg F. Try to keep the humidity below 60% and replace feather pillows with synthetic ones. Also, choose washable stuffed toys and wash them often in hot water and dry thoroughly. Keep stuffed toys off beds.

Select appropriate furnishings - avoid overstuffed furniture, wool fabrics and rugs because wool sheds particles that are eaten by insects. Use washable curtains and rugs instead of wall to wall carpeting. If you cannot replace the carpeting, have it steam cleaned at least once a year-springtime is best.

The vacuum cleaner is an important tool for managing house dust. However, dust the furniture before you vacuum so the dust has time to settle on the floor where it can be picked up by the vacuum. Do not scatter dust. Instead, dust with a damp cloth rather than dry dusting.

Vacuum cleaners with a water filter are preferable to those with a disposal paper bag because the water vacuum removes a greater particle size than paper-bag types. There are also vacuums with high efficiency particulate air filters (HEPA filter) designed for use by people allergic to dust.
It is better to vacuum thoroughly once a week rather than lightly on a daily basis. Vacuum mattresses and padded furniture thoroughly - 20 minutes for each mattress is not too long.

A major reservoir for collecting and holding dust in indoor environments is carpeting. Carpets accumulate allergens at 100 times the rate of a bare floor. The ideal non-allergenic flooring is hardwood or tile, since these surfaces can be cleaned with a wet mop and covered with small washable rugs.

The most effective method to control animal allergens in your home is to keep pets out of the house and always groom them outdoors. (Note-other countries experience much lower rates of allergies and asthma because most pets are kept outdoors.)

If you remove an animal from the home, it is important to clean the floors and walls, carpets and upholstered furniture thoroughly. Pet allergen levels are reported to stay in the home for several months after the pet is removed even with cleaning.

If your pet resides in the home, some experts advise you to wash your pets regularly. On the other hand, washing may only provide a temporary reduction in allergen levels. There is no evidence that this short term reduction is effective in reducing symptoms and it has been suggested that during the washing of the animal the sensitive individual may be initially exposed to higher levels of allergen.

If you want to keep your pets indoors, one solution is to make your bedroom off-limits to pets. Bathe them with a mild shampoo at least once a week to reduce dander. Despite these precautions, several reports indicate that animal allergen is carried in the air and by residents of the home on their clothing to all parts of the home, even when the animal is isolated.

If you have a forced-air heating and/or cooling system in your home, you have another source for generating dust. With forced-air systems, it is important to use at least pleated filters rated for the blower capacity and to clean them often.

According to the University of Texas research, HEPA air filters are much more effective in removing dust than ion-generating air purifiers which make particles electrically charged to remove them from circulating air. Some ion-generating air filters emit significant amounts of ozone. Ozone irritates the lungs and can cause chest pain, coughing, shortness of breath and throat irritation. According to the EPA, ozone may worsen chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma and compromise the ability of the body to fight respiratory infections.

Forced-air systems can have leaky ducts. It is not uncommon to find about 20% of the air that goes through a typical forced-air system is lost through holes and gaps around the fittings or from unsealed joints between duct sections. These leaks let heated or cooled air escape and draw dirty air into the system. (A heating contractor can pressure-test your system. If more than 2% of the air is leaking out, it is worth sealing every accessible joint)

Allergen Screening

Allergens are certain antigens that cause an allergic reaction and the production of IgE. The aim of the immune system is to mobilize its forces at the site of invasion and destroy the enemy. Examples of allergens include pollens, molds, dust mite, danders, and foods.

Allergies can develop at any age, possibly even in the womb. They normally occur in children but may give rise to symptoms for the first time in adulthood. Asthma may persist in adults while nasal allergies tend to decline in old age.

Effects of Obesity Increase Among Children

Recent statistics shows that the number of girls using diabetes medicine has increased to the double in 2002 and 2005 in the United States. The main reason for this increase is obesity.

It was announced in the American Public Health Association that children at different ages are taking drugs and medicines originally made for adults' treatment. These drugs are made to treat adults for heart disease which are caused by eating too much and lack of exercises. Also there was an increase of the usage of blood pressure, cholesterol, asthma and depression medications and drugs by teens.

This research studied the prescription medicine records of 3.5 million children with private health insurance between 2002 and 2005. The researchers found that there is an increase of using heart disease and type 2 diabetes medicine and drugs.

The study which took 4 years of testing and analysis found that teenagers' and children's use of heart related medicine has increased as Emily Cox, senior director of research at Express Scripts said. The results showed that there is an increase in type 2 diabetes prescriptions among girls aged between 10 and 14 by 166 percent and an increase of type 2 diabetes prescriptions of 135 percent among girls older than 15 years.

The main reason of the increase of diabetes among children and teenagers is the high number of obese children. The statistics shows that there is a sharp increase of obesity among children and teenagers in the U.S. which led to the increase of heart diseases. Although it is difficult to determine the number of children and teenagers who have diabetes and heart disease, the number will raise.

How I Controlled My Daughter's Asthma With Diet

Did you know that you can put your asthma into remission with healthy eating? I'd love to be able to say you could cure it, but the fact is - if you slip off the wagon and start eating badly, your asthma will come back. That's the lesson I've learned from both my daughter, and my best friend.

When my daughter was small, I was a hard working single mom, and I could not afford a lot of sick days and medications.

But she had been a preemie and was prone to respiratory infections, especially in the cold of winter. You could almost mark on the calendar when she was going to be sick. One year in particular she gave me quite a scare, and I decided it was time to get serious.

She had been out in the snow playing for hours - having a good time. Her airways constricted badly. It took a good month before she was really healthy again.

From that point on, I made it a point to make sure that she got at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, and all of the vitamins she needed. We cut out hot dogs, and cut down on kids favorite fast foods, and mac & cheese.

The next winter, she got sick, but not sick enough to require a doctor. We didn't go to the doctor for a couple of years until she needed a school checkup. He was very impressed with her progress.

When my ex-husbands insurance coverage was changing, the company raised a question about my daughter's medical history. The doctor reported that she had not had any episodes or needed inhalers for over 2 years, and in his opinion was asthma free. We all believed that.

In the trials and tribulations of joint custody - my daughter decided she wanted to live at her dad's for high school (which could be the subject of another book). I was now the fun time parent. They have control over her day to day living experience.

Over the last couple of years, she has gotten sicker and sicker.

Over there, they don't believe in fruits and vegetables. They believe in doctors and meds. She has all kinds of prescription meds, inhalers, sinus washes... It makes me sick. I make sure she eats healthy when she's here, but it's not enough.

And she wants to eat healthy. She likes fruits and vegetables and fresh food.

But they eat things like hamburger helper, and prepared burgers, and lots of potatoes and gravies. And they all get sicker.

I just pray that when I get her back next year, that I'll be able to undo the damage that's been done.

Olive Oil Benefits

A study was done in 2002 that showed that Virgin Olive Oil might help with lowering cholesterol.

The study involved 16 healthy people. The purpose of the study was to see if virgin olive oil would help to lower cholesterol.

The people were told to not eat foods or drinks containing phenol during the study. The reason they did this was because phenol has already been proven to help control cholesterol levels. Onions, wine and vegetables as well as coffee and tea all have phenol in them.

After not eating or drinking phenol foods or liquids for 4 days... on the 5th day, the people consumed 50 ml of virgin olive oil -- about 3.3 tablespoons... with or without bread.

Then, the participants did not eat or drink anything with phenols for the next 24 hours. They ate their regular diet but also drank 25 mL of olive oil daily, for a week.

Also note that they were told to avoid high-fat foods during that period as well.

The results? After one week of taking olive oil daily (minus any "good foods and drinks... or fatty foods), the blood tests showed that the participants had higher levels of phenol and Vitamin E in their bodies.

The study shows you how powerful olive oil can be and how it can help control healthy cholesterol levels.

Please remember, though, that heating the olive oil and ingesting it that way will most likely not benefit you much. The olive oil needs to be ingested right from the bottle. Otherwise, it would not benefit you much... if any.

Is Bronchitis Contagious? Yes and No

Bronchitis is the swelling of the bronchial tubes, otherwise known as the airways. These airways are the windpipes that directly connect to the lungs. Bronchitis happens when there is an irritation that occurs in the bronchial tubes. Next to the irritation, the formation of thick mucus will soon follow. Hence, the air passage will be blocked by the mucus, leading to difficulty in breathing. Bronchitis can be identified into two types: acute and chronic. The acute bronchitis is normally an illness that lasts for a short period of time. Usually, this is caused by severe cold. But most often, this is triggered by the viral infections. Acute bronchitis is characterized by the pain in the middle of the chest, cough that comes with green sputum. Fever might also happen, and a slight difficulty in breathing might also occur.

The Chronic bronchitis on the other hand is identified with a cough that produces mucus. And this lasts for longer period of time as compared to the acute bronchitis. These viral infections can be transmitted from one person to other through indirect and direct contact.

However, the spread of bronchitis can still be avoided. The affected person only needs to maintain a healthy hygiene by regularly washing his hands and by using hand sanitizers afterwards. Most importantly, the affected person should cover his mouth whenever he is coughing. Hence, the possibility of transmitting the disease is reduced. People who suffer from asthma may also develop an acute bronchitis. Such circumstance reduces the risk of acute bronchitis to be contagious. It is the effect whenever the acute bronchitis acts as a complication of a certain disease. To totally eliminate the risk of spreading the disease, it is best to cure it. Antibiotic are not regarded as an effective way to treat acute bronchitis. This is because bronchitis is caused by viral infection. Only an ample amount of rest, an extra liquids intake, and a non-prescription medicine for cough are the suggested effective treatment for acute bronchitis. The antibiotic are only prescribe by the doctors whenever there is the presence of bacterial infection. Antibiotic will then serve to lessen the risk of secondary infection. How to Live With a Nut Allergy

When you have a healthy new born baby the last thing you expect could ever happen is that in a few years time this child will develop the symptoms of an allergy.

The truth is, 18 million people in Britain are estimated to have an allergy and children are particularly effected with as many as 40,000 babies born each year with an allergy of some sort.

It's a staggering fact but at least 1 in 50 of all children are allergic to nuts, on our weekly radio show we spoke to a particular mum who wants to raise awareness of nut allergies and not just to people who suffer from it.

She said: "I have a daughter who is older now and she didn't have any allergies at all but my son reacted when he was in his highchair eating finger food and he had part of her sandwich which had peanut butter on it and he reacted instantly. His face went into a big rash and started swelling, he started crying and was obviously very uncomfortable. I then had it confirmed that he had a nut allergy."

In some cases nut allergies can prove fatal. Food allergies are most common in the first three years of life and there is a link between children who suffer and a family history of asthma, eczema, hayfever and allergies in general.

In our mum's case, her husband has asthma. She admits that dealing with a child who suffers from a nut allergy can be difficult but things have got better.

She said, "He's 10 now but when he was younger I was constantly going back and forth telling people about him and ringing them up to say that he couldn't eat this and couldn't eat that. As he got older he then became much more cautious himself. The difficulty for him is that so many foods say 'may contain traces of nuts'. He has to make sure that he carries his medicines with him. What he needs to do is carry piraton, if he was to have a severe reaction then he carries two epipens with him. We've had a couple of incidents where well meaning Grandparents have given him sweets which have had nuts in them and he didn't know.

You just have to manage it around their lifestyle, be sensible about it and not exclude them from certain events."

For those who do suffer from nut allergies you can get injection kits on prescription. So, it would be a good idea to see your health advisor or local GP if you have any serious concerns.

Just as the community you live in has its own personality, the Internet marketing company or even your team has its own way of doing things, creating a certain personality. Some communities are very tight-knit. They work together, helping to build each other up and taking care of those who need it. Other communities have more of a "live and let live philosophy". The term "community marketing" is new to the world of Internet marketing. Community marketing means that there will be a division of labor among the team members based on the talents and professional achievements each person might bring to the organization.

Members are paid and perform tasks according to their position. There are variations in community networking as with anything. Community marketing came about as a way to offer its members professional services, giving them options in areas they need to build a business, but may not be familiar with enough to do on their own yet.

The company provides professional advertisers, marketers, and business coaches to members. Business owners can pay for professional services to promote their Internet marketing business, but must remain at their current level in pay and title until they meet the criteria needed to move on. If criteria is not maintained, the pay level will be reduced, but normally title remains intact.

There is no company requirement for everyone to have the exact same training. While various trainings may be available through the company or their group, each business owner makes his/her own choices. Members who can afford to purchase professional services to grow their business can take advantage of these services.Some business owners either may not have the time or maybe would rather not learn the different specialties necessary to achieve success. This management model would be very similar to any traditional large corporation. Your profit would be reduced by your expenses for professional services.

Experts in their field are available to do a specific job well, rather than doing many jobs with mediocrity. It remains that way throughout the company. The expense to the new person remains higher longer because they must continue to compensate all other positions.

Alternate Internet Marketing Community

Some companies may employ variations of the community marketing business model. Training might be set up so that payment for reaching milestones is included in the compensation plan. Their system of community marketing has formal Internet marketing training, marketing, promotions & advertising that is readily available so that all business owners get the same opportunity.

The training / coaching for members is formalized, created and maintained by the company itself. The members are the coaches. Members get through each training level and are only promoted after achieving certain criteria. Training is much more formal and the same for everyone. While some coaches offer additional training options, the company has a program every member is required to complete prior to moving on to the next level.

Community marketing is a life line for new members. They may come into your organization with little to no formal training on how to own and operate a home-based business. They are given an opportunity to learn in detail the business of Internet marketing and therefore experience success in a team where they may not have been successful on their own.

Internet Marketing- Growing Yourself And Your Business

The company has formal classes that must be passed with checks and balances built in so that everyone knows when members are ready for the next role assigned to them. Each new business owner will train in every management position. Certain criteria must be met prior to receiving promotions within the company. In this situation the business owner would be required to fulfill his /her position responsibilities in order to receive maximum compensation.

As the new member grows in his work from home business, he'll take on more responsibility and move into new roles. All business owners will want to spend time in each position. This is on the job training to operate their Internet business successfully. Should other members be required to fulfill the responsibilities while they are training or are inactive, then those business owners will receive the majority of the pay.

Most new business owners need a written form of training, some form of one on one or group coaching and then assignments that forces them to practice their new responsibilities. We're no different than children when it comes to "are you taking a grade on this?". If the assignment doesn't "count" and they can promote without it, they may skip it. Any activity or task that is required to build their Internet marketing business must have accountability attached. This way no matter how difficult the task or how long it takes, the business owner works on the task until it is mastered. In the long run, the business owner and the company both benefit.

First of all, if you're just beginning, you need to know how to find topics for your articles and some research basics. Let me suggest that you pick a topic you like to begin with. Then go to dmoz.org and begin digging for a niche. Here is an example of how you could do that. Start with a broad subject like Recreation. Next, let's chose a subject like Motorcycles. Ok move down to Organizations. Now click on North America. Pick a demographic area like the United States. You could narrow it down to a State if you want to however; let's stick with U.S. Military Veterans. Now you have a whole list of Bike Clubs for Veterans. Go to some of these sites and read what they are talking about. What needs or desires do they have? Can you fill these needs and desires? Yes, you can. How? Search for a product that fills the needs and desires you just read about. Now write an article about these needs and desires and the product you found that fills those needs and desires. Remember to keep your article relevant and use the proper keywords. Now when this niche market is looking to fill their needs and desires you'll be a likely source in which to buy from.

What if you have a product but not a niche? Then you need to find a niche. Try this method to find a niche market: Go to dmoz.org, amazon.com, ebay.com, or your favorite shopping place online. Now, start by going down their indexes and keep clicking until you get deep into the realm of ever-narrowing niche market. That's one method to finding your niche.

Ok, let us dig a bit deeper into the subject of how to find topics for your articles and some research basics. Actually, this may go a bit beyond research basics.

What should I do before I start? Before you begin researching the internet or library you should consider the following:

Think about the information you are researching for.
Would a book or other electronic source be more appropriate? Like an encyclopedia or a database of refereed journal articles.
Would it be better to use a search engine, a subject directory, or both?
What words would best describe your subject? Try to be as precise as possible.

To keep your research effective it is important that you consider exactly what question you are trying to answer. This is called developing a research strategy. Following the steps below will help you to simplify your question:

What is your topic?
What are the key concepts in your question?
What other ways could you can express these key concepts?

When you have completed these steps you will have a list of terms with which to commence your research.

What to do when your initial research is not successful or returns too much information. Try these techniques of refining or improving your research:

Use more search terms to get fewer, more relevant records
Use fewer search terms to get more records
Search for phrases by enclosing research terms in commas ("German Sheppard Training")
Choose search engines that allow you to refine your search results
Limit your research to sites that end with .gov .net. or a country code like .uk .au and so on
Use Boolean operators or '+' (an essential term) and '-' symbol (for a term that should be excluded) to refine your search

That is how you can I improve your research results. Some search engines exclude some types of pages by policy. They do this to avoid cluttering up their databases with unwanted content. So, how do you dig deeper into this hidden web? Simply think "databases" and keep your eyes open. You can find searchable databases containing hidden web pages in the course of your research. Here are a couple directories of value in academic research:

Librarians' Internet Index (lii.org)
Infomine (infomine.ucr.edu)

Use search engines to locate searchable databases by searching a subject topic plus the word "database". If the database uses the word database in its own pages, you are likely to find it. The word "database" is also useful in searching a topic in the Google directory or the Yahoo directory, because they sometimes use the term to describe searchable databases in their listings.

Examples:
Airplane crash database
Languages database
Toxic chemicals database

Remember that the hidden web exists. In addition to what you find in search engine results (including Google Scholar) and most web directories, there are other gold mines you have to search directly. This includes all of the licensed article, magazine, reference, news archives, and other research resources that libraries and some industries buy for those authorized to use them.

In conclusion, keep these key points in mind when developing your research strategy. Be as specific as possible about what you are looking for and become familiar with the phrases and concepts you're researching. Divide your question into concepts for searching and think about and look for alternative research terms. Everybody has a blog today. It's almost a requirement if you're going to be an Internet marketer. The problem with blogs is that many marketers don't really use them as efficiently as possible. I'm not saying there is a right and wrong way to use a blog. All I am saying is that there are certain things you can do to make your blog work a little better for you, at least when it comes to marketing. This article is going to share some of my top tips that hopefully will turn YOUR blogs into real money makers.

One of the biggest mistakes that marketers make with their blogs is that they use them the same way that they would use a sales page...to sell. Blogs are not for selling, at least not directly. Blogs are for giving other marketers information. Information is the driving force behind everything that sells as far as Internet marketing goes. People in this niche are constantly screaming for information because they are constantly struggling to better themselves...and information is the only way to do this. So treating your blog like a sales page is defeating the purpose of the blog.

Instead, how about putting up an article about some topic of Internet marketing itself? This is what people are looking for in their attempts to be better marketers after all. They're more likely to read an article than they are to read a sales pitch. For that matter, if all they see on your blog is one sales pitch after another, it is doubtful that they will ever return to it. You've effectively just lost a potential customer.

Another thing that you can do is put up reviews to several products that pertain to Internet marketing. Maybe you purchased an ebook that you thought was pretty good. Why not review it? Maybe you bought some software like Keyword Elite or SEO Elite that you also thought was excellent. You could share your opinions on those as well. I'm not saying not to use your affiliate link to promote these products at the end of the review. That's fine. But at least give them a good reason for going to the site. An in depth review will do just that.

Don't treat your blog like a sales page. Give readers good solid content that they can actually get something out of and they'll come back time and time again.

Sometimes I need to refresh myself on the difference between blogging and internet marketing. When you write an article for a blog about internet marketing, is it still considered blogging?

I think most people consider blogging to be a form of expression that is directly related to their personal life. Wikipedia defines internet marketing or online marketing, as the marketing of products or services over the World Wide Web.

For the most part, the distinction between a blogger and an internet marketer is a bit fuzzy. The most obvious realization is that the average blogger probably doesn't make that much money online whereas the business savvy internet marketing might make a fortune selling advertising and affiliate products.

Generally bloggers write about their experiences, their opinions, current events, and things that interest them. Internet marketers tend to focus on subjects like search engine optimization, affiliate reviews, and marketing techniques. They are focused on making money plain and simple.

The typical internet marketer spends half their time in the field writing and the other half researching, optimizing and obtaining inbound links. Bloggers generally spend half their time writing and the other half of their time trying to get their peers to read their blogs.

To make a long story short just because you have a blog doesn't necessarily mean you are marketing it correctly. If you are serious about your blog either way you will most likely need to acquire internet traffic to leverage your blog. Regardless of whether or not you want to earn money online with your blog, learning the basic principals of internet marketing will most likely prove to be very useful in the acquisition of internet traffic.

I live and work on the internet. I spend a good deal of time looking at people's websites and reading the information about the new big thing on the net. You know, seo is my job, my passion...and yes...I am good at nailing top positions on Google.

What most people seem to not realize is that they do NOT NEED all these fancy so called software programs that will make them wildly successful.

Hey...wake up and smell the coffee...

These programs...the so-called revolutionary systems devised from these so called huge networkers, are designed to do one thing...SEPERATE YOU FROM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY...nothing more...nothing less!

I have been with companies, mlm companies, lead generation companies, held massive amouts of training sessions for these companies...and without exception, they are all the same. The take your money...hype you up will all the cliche phrases about how caring they are...how they want you to be successful...but bottom line...they will take your money...And...you know the great thing about these so-called gurus? They are all alike. No exceptions.

When you decided that you no longer want to spend the money for their concern, they will not give you the time of day...As a matter of fact, most will not even reply to an email from you.

Now, this is not from someone who just got fed up or disillusioned...this is from an average guy...me...who works down in the trenches on the net every single day. I put in the time...I do the job...I never condemn, criticize or complain...but what I do...is that I watch everyone.

I watch how the programs evolve. I watch the self-replicated sites that these pseudo masters hand out...and without exception...none of them are promotable on the internet! That's right! NONE>>>NADA>>>ZILCH!

And the funny thing is...these websites come from so called internet search engine optimization masters! I find that amazing and ludicrous and amazing!

On the internet, its important that you find your own niche...find the ONE thing that you can become successful with...promote it with all the strength in your body...and maybe...just maybe...you will find what you are looking for.My advice...is to stay far away from the programs that sound too good to be true...because they are...they just want your money...they want your excitement...they want your enthusiasm...and then...as quickly as they appear...they will be gone!

What makes it even worse are these so called "training" companies that supposedly teach distributors how to effectively build a network marketing business with NO clue what they are doing.

There's an old saying that goes "those who can, do and those that can't, teach." This saying comes as a result of looking at people like the trainers for these so called training companies. It's amazing that they charge well intended network marketers so much money just to recommend some of the most ridiculous internet marketing strategies ever created.

The following are five of the worst ways to recruit network marketers online. If you are doing any of these things, stop now and learn how to recruit network marketers the proper way. If you are enrolled in any training company that teaches you to do these things, run.

1) Call network marketers that have ads online and try to pitch your opportunity to them. This is one of the worst recruiting strategies ever created, yet it is one of the most common recruiting strategies used by many network marketers.

What you are taught to do is look for ads online by network marketing distributors advertising their products, services or opportunity. You then call them up on the phone and pitch them your opportunity over the phone. The idea is that since most network marketers aren't making a lot of money, you will catch one on a bad day and recruit them.

2) Respond to ads placed by network marketers, pretend to be a serious prospect and then try to pitch your opportunity to them. This strategy is even worse than strategy #1 because not only is it a bad strategy but it's dishonest as well.

With this strategy you are taught to find advertisements that you can respond to that will allow you to become a business opportunity lead. This will allow you to get on the lead lists of a number of different network marketers. As a result, they will contact you. You pretend to be interested in the opportunity just long enough until it's time to get started. Then you try to turn the tables and get them to join your opportunity.

3) Post to discussion boards, blogs, social networking web sites like Myspace and Facebook in the areas where network marketers congregate about your opportunity.

All of the above web sites are excellent ways to meet and recruit network marketers. However, what you shouldn't be doing is just posting about your network marketing opportunity. In most cases, this is considered "message board spam." Your posts will likely be deleted and you could even be banned from that particular community.

4) Find a "genealogy list" online to buy of a network marketing company that went out of business and call them.

This strategy is extremely inefficient at best, a complete waste of time at worst. When a network marketing company goes out of business, most distributors that were a part of that company are simply not going to join an opportunity with a complete stranger that called them from a lead list.

In many cases, they are going to be extremely negative on the entire network marketing industry and not worth talking to. The best prospects in that company generally already know what new company they are headed to because they are going to follow their upline.

5) Find networkers selling network marketing related products online and try to recruit them.

With this approach you look for web sites run by network marketers selling products related to network marketing. You then try to contact them and recruit them.

This is also a bad strategy. Most distributors that are actually selling network marketing related materials online are already satisfied with their opportunity and are not looking to jump. In fact, in many cases they are selling stuff online as part of their overall strategy to market the opportunity they are already in.
